Abstract

Field-level based inference of cosmological parameters is a promising alternative to the usual approach that relies on measurements of n-point correlation functions. I will discuss some advantages and limitations of this method in the context of perturbative forward modeling, where the theoretical model for the observed galaxy density field is computed using perturbation theory. I will review some recent contradictory results and suggest possible explanations that can have important implications for the field-level analysis.
